Habitat for Humanity Continues to Revitalize Bailey Green’s Housing

On June 27, Habitat Buffalo dedicated a new home at 142 Wende Street. This marks the 15th new home Habitat has built in the Bailey Green community – part of a multi-year commitment to improve the availability of affordable housing, along with the quality of life of the hundreds of residents who live in our historically disadvantaged neighborhood.

The home was built in partnership with Erie 1 BOCES’ students – who completed the framing, drywall, and rough HVAC, electric, and plumbing as part of their hands-on curriculum during the school year. The house was then transferred to a pre-poured foundation and finished by Habitat Buffalo volunteers. Funding partners included the Bauer Foundation and Univera Healthcare.
