Harmac Announces Lew and Betty Scholarship Winner

Harmac is proud to award this year’s Lew and Betty scholarship to Rihab Eliaas, the son of two employees at our Buffalo headquarters. Rihab is in his second semester at the University at Buffalo, where he is majoring in Engineering. He is a graduate of Lafayette International Community High School. His father, Ruhel Eliaas, has been part of our second shift operations team since 2019, while his mother, Poppy Eliaas, joined our first shift team in 2021. Rihab is bilingual in English and Bengali. In addition to earning his bachelor’s degree, he also volunteers with several community groups and is currently working as a shift manager in a fast-food restaurant.

2023 marks the 10th anniversary of this award, named in memory of Harmac co-founder Lewis Somers and his wife, Betty.
